The XXVIII New Designers Competition is heating up

The list of memoirs selected to participate in the XXVIII New Designers Competition of the Camariñas Lace Fair of the Provincial Council of A Coruña is made public. The event will take place from 13 to 17 April 2022, during the celebration of the XXXI Camariñas Lace Fair.

Around 10,000 people experienced the long-awaited return of the Mostra do Encaixe for 5 days

The COVID protocol designed by the organization, with capacity control and space reduction, ensured that the event was held safely. Encarna Liñeiro thanked everyone involved for their work and declared “the most awaited exhibition, which 600 days later became a reality,” to be complete.

Enxebre II, by Rocío Molina López and Alba Cobos Ropero, came in second place in the competition, while Déjame Encajar, by Rebeca Mercado Alfaro, came in third place. The special audience award went to Candela Rodríguez and Alba Otero with Carrera de indias. The awards were presented by Sandra Insua, Encarna Liñeiro, Carlos Tavares and Reinaldo Tajes.

Camariñas rewards the career of four lacemakers who participated in the 30th edition of the Mostra do Encaixe

Carmen Carrera, Matilde Isabel García, María Rosa Liñeiro and Carmen Bugallo received this recognition. The councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, praised the figure of the lacemakers, who she described as “the most important piece”.

The XXX Camariñas Lace Exhibition begins, the Provincial Council of A Coruña, "the most awaited edition"

The official inauguration was carried out by the mayor of Camariñas, the government delegate in Galicia, and the president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña. Sandra Insua stated that “the whole of Camariñas needed a psychological boost like the one that the Mostra celebration gives us” and added that “without Mostra we are less strong, we are further away from each other”.

This Friday, October 8, the XXX Camariñas Lace Show begins.

12 major brands, 11 participants in the ArtEncaixe section, 24 new designers, meetings of lace makers and much more at the XXX Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña.
The event will officially start tomorrow at 5:00 p.m., and previously an extraordinary plenary session will be held to invest Xosé Luis Blanco Campaña as the municipality's favorite son.
