Camariñas rewards the career of four lacemakers who participated in the 30th edition of the Mostra do Encaixe

Carmen Carrera, Matilde Isabel García, María Rosa Liñeiro and Carmen Bugallo received this recognition. The councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, praised the figure of the lacemakers, who she described as “the most important piece”.

A lifetime of participating in the Camariñas Lace Show has a prize from the Provincial Council of A Coruña. And if not, ask Carmen Carrera, Matilde Isabel García, María Rosa Liñeiro and Carmen Bugallo, who received recognition from the City Council this morning for having participated in the 30 editions of the event.

The presentation of diplomas and gifts to the lace makers was carried out by the councilor for Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, the councilor for Works, Sergio Caamaño, the councilor for Equality, Begoña Tajes, the councilor for Sports, Fabián Canosa, and the head of Commerce, Lara Pasantes. During her speech, Liñeiro praised the work of the lace makers, which she defined as “the most important piece in all editions of the Mostra do Encaixe”. For their part, the honorees agreed to point out the “importance that the event, in general, and lace, in particular, have in their lives.

Afternoon activities at XXX Mostra

The fourth day of the Camariñas Lace Fair of the Provincial Council of A Coruña is full of activity. The Provincial Council of A Coruña catwalk will host, at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the New Designers' fashion shows, which will be attended by the jury of this edition, made up of several renowned designers: Dolores Cortés, who will act as president, Charo Carrillo, Edith del Valle, Claudina Mata, Inés Fernández and Esteban Freiría.

The closing ceremony on Monday, October 11, will take place at 8:00 p.m. with a meeting between great and new designers.
