The first name on the list of haute couture confirmations for the XXXI Camariñas Lace Fair of the Provincial Council of A Coruña marks the return of 'Devota y Lomba', the signature of Modesto Lomba, to the 'Great Designers' parade.
The designer was unable to participate in the catwalk in the last two editions of the event, although he did so as a jury member of the 2019 New Designers of the Year competition. “It is a natural return, and as Fray Luis de León said when he returned to his chair in Salamanca after years imprisoned by the Inquisition: ,” explains Modesto Lomba.
"For DEVOTAYLOMBA, the link with craftsmanship is essential for our creative work process and the lace brings the subtlety and finesse of the artisans' work, it enriches the final result of a dress or other textile piece", he says.
Regarding the return of the event to its usual date and practically without restrictions after the atypical exhibition held last year in the month of October, Modesto Lomba is "eager to return to daily life and its events, and we do so by incorporating one more piece into our wardrobe: the mask".
The renowned designer does not want to reveal what he will bring to the Mostra do Encaixe this year but encourages "to come and see a fresh collection prepared for the summer".
