Estefanía Orgaz and Pedro Orgaz once again become the winners of the XXXII New Designers competition with the Albor collection

This is the first time in the history of the competition that a participant has won the first prize for the second year in a row. Expediente 1885, by Marina Lamelo Vallejo, won second place in the contest, while Araiz, by Sheila Pérez Garrido, came in third, and Mater Sancta by Marina Martín García and Javier Requena took fourth prize. The awards were presented by Sandra Insua, Javier de Francisco, María José Gerpe and Olga Campos.

The closing day of the XXXV Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña served to reveal the winners of the XXXII New Designers competition. The first prize, awarded by the mayor of Camariñas, Sandra Insua, went to Estefanía Orgaz and Pedro Orgaz, who with their collection Dawn they repeat the award for the second consecutive year.

The brothers from A Coruña, who had already won over the professional jury in 2025 with their collection Mithra, They also manage to mark a historical milestone: it is the first time that participants have won first prize twice. 

The head of institutional relations at Stolt Sea Farm, Javier de Francisco, presented the award to File 1885, of Marina Lamelo Vallejo, who was in second place; while the collection Araiz from Sheila Pérez Garrido, who received the award from the head of institutional relations at Frigoríficos de Camariñas, María José Gerpe; achieved third place. The fourth prize, awarded by the president of the Association of Businessmen and Tourism Promotion of Camariñas, Olga Campos, went to Marina Martín García and Javier Requena, with Holy Mother. 

In this edition, a total of 4,500 euros were awarded in prizes divided as follows: a first prize of 2,100 euros, a second of 1,200 euros, a third of 700 euros, and a fourth of 500 euros. 

25 collections from a total of 29 young people who are taking their first steps in the world of fashion were nominated for these awards. The backgrounds of the new designers were very diverse, having trained in the best schools in the country.

The jury was composed of the following designers: Modesto Lombra, Ana Cabranes, Dolores Cortés, Felipe Santamaría, Ignacio Muñoz, Joaquín Ruíz and José Perea.

At the closing ceremony, the councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, stated that “the impact of this Show and our lace is not limited to these days of celebration. Behind the spotlights, there is tireless work that bears fruit 365 days a year. We have been processing dozens of orders for different designers all year long”. “Thanks to the immense talent and the hands of our weavers and seamstresses, next May a clothing collection will be released that will take our craftsmanship all over the world. This is the true success of our lace: generating opportunities and a future for our town”, she indicated.

In his speech he stressed that “in Camariñas, art is not only found in chopsticks or in parades. Art surrounds every step we take in our municipality. Therefore, this year we wanted to continue our campaign 'And you... Do you fit in paradise?'. An initiative with which we take those who visit us to discover our epicenter of the wildest nature: the Trece-Reira-Vilán axis. An indomitable environment, with rough seas and imposing rocks, which magically contrasts with the delicacy of our lace‘.
