Recognition to the 50 volunteers who sewed the 15,000 masks

The 15,000 photon masks made by 50 volunteers who contributed their grain of sand to combat this terrible COVID-19 pandemic

The Raquel Moreira Carril classroom at the MECAM Museo Encaixe Camariñas today received recognition from the City Council of Camariñas for the 50 volunteers who sewed the 15,000 masks that were distributed during the confinement.

At the event, which was attended by all the groups of the municipal corporation, they were given a small token of appreciation for the work they carried out at such a difficult time. The mayor, Sandra Insua, thanked them for their “priceless work at the worst moment of the pandemic” and highlighted that “they stood out as true heroines of Camariñas”.

The mayor also wanted to invite the representatives of the Post Office to the event, whom she thanked for their collaboration since "they were responsible for distributing the masks house by house completely free of charge."

In addition, he took advantage of the presence of the rest of the corporation's groups to praise "their work during confinement, always collaborating where necessary."
