The new Mostra do Encaixe website will be translated into five languages

In addition to the current Galician, Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese will be incorporated. These last two languages in tribute to our sister towns of Novedrate and Peniche

The department of the Camariñas Lace Show of the Provincial Council of A Coruña continues with its plan to consolidate the internationalization that the event has been experiencing in recent years, becoming the fashion catwalk par excellence during Easter in Spain and positioning lace as a cutting-edge element for haute couture.

To this end, the City Council of Camariñas, in addition to submitting a formal request for it to be considered a festival of national tourist interest, has created a new specific website for the Mostra www.mostradoencaixe.es, which has been available for a few months now only in Galician and which is intended to be translated into four other languages.

Taking advantage of the confinement resulting from the health crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19, the Mostra do Encaixe department wanted to speed up the deadlines and is already finishing the translation into Spanish and English. Portuguese and Italian will then be incorporated in tribute to the sister towns of Peniche (Portugal) and Novedrate (Italy).

The councillor responsible for the Mostra, Encarna Liñeiro, explained that this "is a very important step since every year numerous delegations from different continents attend the Mostra and we want them to be informed in detail of all the actions that are being carried out around lace throughout the year."

Furthermore, Liñeiro stressed that "the strategy we are following with the translation of the website is that of the internationalization of Camariñas Lace in markets where there is real demand for this craft, such as our sisters in Portugal and Italy. In addition, it serves to continue strengthening ties with these localities with which we are so close."
