The XXXIII Lace Exhibition will premiere the 'ReEncaixame' fashion show to promote the reuse of lace

The aim is to encourage designers to reinterpret an outdated collection by reusing both fabrics and lace from Camariñas. “We want to demonstrate that lace is a quality craft that can be recycled into other garments,” explains Encarna Liñeiro. Anyone who has participated in any of the editions of the Young Designers Competition will be able to apply until January 15th.

The XXXIII Camariñas Lace Fair of the Provincial Council of A Coruña will have a new parade: 'ReEncaixame'. This new category is a clear commitment to sustainability in crafts and fashion, in this case seeking to encourage the reuse of lace.

The purpose of the show is to encourage designers to reinterpret an outdated collection by reusing both Camariñas fabrics and lace. They must show how they reinterpret and transform the garments into a new collection with a focus on reusing materials and reducing waste.

All those people who, whether or not they are fashion professionals, have participated in the Young Designers Competition of the Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña in any of its 29 editions will be able to participate.

The deadline for submissions ends on January 15, 2024 at 00:00. The collections will be paraded on the catwalk of the XXXIII Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña under the names of the designers on March 30 and 31, 2024.

The councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, explains that "what we seek is to demonstrate that lace is a quality craft that can be recycled without any problem into other garments, thus reducing the possible negative environmental impact."
