Local talent will be very present at the XXXIV Camariñas Lace Fair Provincial Council of A Coruña in the brands FitsT, I am tense. and January of Toba, who will participate in the parades of ArtEncaixe. These projects were born with Tina, Concha, Maruja, Maik and Noemí, and their personal stamp will be a fundamental part of the activity that will take place in the Víctor Vigo pavilion from April 16 to 20, 2025.
FitsT was born in March 2018 to merge art, lace, t-shirts, naturalness and tradition. Tina, Concha and Maruja shape t-shirts, “a basic garment that is present in many people's wardrobes for its comfort, and that transmit messages full of value with our Encaixe. This year, our designs will be shown on the Deputación de A Coruña catwalk with six pieces, some new very comfortable and natural designs because that is our essence: Encaixe with naturalness”, they state.

Maik Perez is the alter ego from I am tense., a brand that was born “almost by chance, the result of a coincidence and a course I took. After training in areas such as marketing and purchasing consultant, and working for years in the backstage "In previous editions of the Mostra, I decided to take the step with great enthusiasm and transform the Camariñas Lace into unique jewelry and accessories," he points out.
“For me, Lace is more than a material: it is part of my life and my roots. All the women in my family have always worked with Lace, so I take it with me everywhere. My pieces have traveled as far as Saudi Arabia, and of course, they are always connected to Camariñas. For this edition I will present a new fashion collection in which Lace is the protagonist, a work of months, with the dedication of many palilleras and in which I had the support of my mother, a fundamental pillar of my life. The collection will transport us to those times when palilleras met to work together, but with a modern approach and an LGBTQ+ touch, values that are also part of me. This is my first complete collection and represents a huge challenge, because I want to convey all that meaning not only in fashion, but also in accessories”, concludes this Camariñan.
Noemí Toba, a Cutting and Dressmaking student at the Aury Pérez Academy, will parade with her brand, January of Toba and her collection “Dezaseis de julio”. Linked to the world of fashion from a very young age, with the desire to “work on this when I finish my training, because it is something I enjoy and feel fulfilled with”, this is not the first time she has applied Encaixe de Camariñas to clothing.
From a very young age, I was clear that this way of understanding life "would be part of me. When I was very young, I would go to the seamstress and tell her where and how I wanted her to apply lace to my clothes. Now that I know the techniques, I design, I make the patterns, sew and embroider the lace that goes on the clothes, and that I will show on the catwalk this year after presenting last year Deity", my first collection."
“What Lace can bring to clothes is not comparable to any other application that can be made. This collection will be very special, because it has been drawn in my notebook for a long time, it unites two characteristic elements of Camariñas, which are the Danza de Arcos and Lace. It is full of feeling and being able to present it in Camariñas is a real pride for me.”
