Galician designer Franco Quintáns will participate in the Great Designers parade of the XXXIV Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, in the year that marks the 30th anniversary of his debut on the Camariñan catwalk.
In 1995, he participated for the first time in the Mostra within the New Designers category, where he was for two years before, in the third, starting his journey as a firm. "For years I have applied lace in my collections, presenting it on catwalks as important as Bridal Week in Barcelona, New York or Milan", he points out.
Within the Mostra, he went through several stages and was able to experience it from different perspectives since "for three years I was the artistic director of the Mostra, organizing the parades and designing the poster, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the same".
"Although I've been working with Camariñas lace since 1995, every time I use it, it's a new challenge to discover how I apply it, in what color, in what way, to create a special garment that enhances the work of the lacemakers. Camariñas always brings quality, craftsmanship, sweetness and warmth when you think that every centimeter of lace is carefully made by hand, with love and care, with an age-old art and, obviously, it adds class to the garment," she says.
Regarding the collection that will be presented in this edition, he explains that "there will be four looks where the small and subtle lace tops take center stage together with the curly tulle skirts, a hallmark of the firm".
