The Mostra department sends 1,000 meters of lace to the 25 participants of the XXVIII New Designers Competition

Some of the designers who will participate in the competition have already received the lace, and in other cases the material is on its way so that they can have their pieces ready for the event, which will take place from April 13 to 17.

The City Council of Camariñas, through the Lace Exhibition department, sent 1,000 meters of Camariñas lace so that the 25 participants of the XXVIII New Designers Competition can prepare their pieces for the event, which will be held from April 13 to 17, 2022, during the XXXI Camariñas Lace Exhibition.

The contestants will be: José Daniel Teriffe, Egoitz Ruíz, Candela Mondelo and Natalia María González, Pablo Buendía and Jacobo Martí, Uxía Rodríguez, Andrea Piñeiro, Josu Santos, Álvaro Castillo, Enrique Sánchez, Nahomi Jiménez and Raquel Marina Blanco, Enrique Llera, Cantia Aparicio, Joaquín Ruíz, Vanessa Parente and Beatriz Chan, Sofía Sánchez, Llucía Miravalles, Alicia Rocamora, Orlinda Armandina Anchundia and Luigi Maldera, Bimba González and Pablo González.

The origins of the new designers are very diverse, as they will come from Asturias, Alicante, Guipúzcoa, Pontevedra, Zaragoza, A Coruña, Cantabria, Zaragoza, Murcia or Madrid. They have trained in the best schools at a national level.

The Lace Show department encourages new designers “to play with the versatility of lace, made by the expert hands of lacemakers” and shows their excitement for “seeing what the boys and girls have prepared for us for this occasion.”
