The bases of the New Designers competition for the XXXI Camariñas Lace Exhibition have been announced Provincial Council of A Coruña

The deadline for submitting works begins today, Tuesday, September 7, and ends on Friday, December 3, 2021. A total of 4,500 euros in prizes will be awarded.

The City Council of Camariñas has just announced the bases for the New Designers competition for the next edition of the Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which will be held between April 13 and 17, 2022.

The main objective of the competition is to encourage and promote the application of Camariñas Lace in fashion, with three prizes being awarded to the best collections, as assessed by the official jury, in addition to a special public prize. The first prize will consist of 2,100 euros, the second of 1,200 euros, and both the third and the special public prize will have a financial award of 600 euros each.

The deadline for submitting works begins today, Tuesday, September 7, and ends on Friday, December 3, 2021. The four designs that make up the collection must have applied Camariñas lace and those that present other material will not be accepted.

All new designers can participate in the call, regardless of their nationality or country of residence, as long as they are students who are studying at centers that teach design and clothing techniques, whether or not they have completed their studies; and all those people linked to the world of design who, although professional in the field of fashion, are not part of a design team in this world.

Participation may be done individually or in a group, in the latter case the maximum number of members being three people. Each applicant will present a collection composed of 4 designs. The theme and modality are free for both men's and women's fashion. Children's fashion designs are excluded.

To submit the documentation, it can be done at the Camariñas Town Hall, Insuela Square, number 57, during office hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and by certified mail.

The councilor of the Mostra, Encarna Liñeiro, expects "great success in participation, after the adverse situation that we all had to face", an assessment that is joined by Dolores Lema, director of the Mostra, who is "tremendously excited about a competition that will be remembered as the first after the coronavirus crisis".
