The Lace Museum is among the most relevant craft museums in Europe

The project, entitled 'Homo Faber Guide' can be viewed through the digital platform Homo Faber Guide. This week a photographic documentation process was carried out of all the museum's material to be sent to the Michelangelo Foundation, creators of the guide.

The Camariñas Lace Museum has been selected to be part of the 'Homo Faber Guide', a guide that will select the most interesting of craftsmanship and design in the European context.

During this week, the City Council of Camariñas has been carrying out a process of photographic documentation of all the museum's material to send it, along with information about each piece and general data about the Lace Museum, to the Michelangelo Foundation, creators of the guide.

The project can be consulted via the web Homo Faber Guidand, a space that aims to highlight the best artisans in Europe and the most relevant museums, galleries, workshops and shops in the sector, as well as facilitating alliances within the community. It will be a very visually attractive platform, in which each reference or institution will have its own page with photos, text about its activity and useful information (location, opening hours, etc.).

"The objective is for it to become a contact forum for the artisan community but also a tool to disseminate craftsmanship among the interested public, another step in the process of internationalizing lace that we are carrying out," explained the councilor for the Mostra, Encarna Liñeiro.

Homo Faber

The Michelangelo Foundation is an international institution dedicated to promoting craftsmanship and design. In 2018, it organized the first-ever 'Homo Faber' craft fair, which showcased the work of over 400 European craftsmen and designers. This year, the second edition was to be held in Japan, but had to be postponed to 2021 due to the spread of COVID-19.
