The City Council of Camariñas today announced the long-awaited program of the XXXI Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which will be held from Wednesday 13 to Sunday 17 April and which, with the question 'And you, do you fit into paradise?', calls for Camariñas to be made known for its wealth and heritage beyond craftsmanship.
The opening of the thirtieth edition of the Mostra, which will return to the usual date and format of the event, will take place on Wednesday the 13th at 3 p.m., at which time the traditional meeting of lacemakers and lacemakers from the Costa da Morte will begin, in which students from municipal nursery schools will also participate. The opening ceremony with the authorities will be at 5 p.m.
During the five days a total of 12 firms in the category of 'Great Designers' will take to the catwalks of the Mostra to show their lace creations. This year we will have the presence of Amaya Fernández, Ana Cabranes, Devota&Lomba, Dolores Cortés, Edith del Valle, Esteban Freiría, Lalacó Atelier, Sara Lage, Jorge de Álvarez and María Campaña, K-KOU and José Matteôs.

This Mostra will also mark the return of international delegations, after the hiatus caused by the pandemic. On Thursday the 14th at 7pm, the parade of 'International lacemakers' delegations' which this year come from Bulgaria, Slovakia, Estonia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic and Switzerland.
In addition, there will also be the XXVIII New Designers Competition in which a total of 4,500 euros in prizes will be distributed and a total of 25 young people who are taking their first steps in the world of fashion will participate. Designers from Asturias, Alicante, Guipúzcoa, Pontevedra, Zaragoza, A Coruña, Cantabria, Zaragoza, Murcia or Madrid will participate. On Saturday the 16th at 8 pm the meeting between great and new designers will be held and on Sunday the 17th from 7:30 pm the jury's decision will be announced.
The 'ArtEncaixe' parade, which debuted in the atypical October Fair, will repeat in this edition seeking consolidation. This year there are 12 artisans who will arrive from different parts of Galicia to demonstrate that lace is versatile and can be adapted to different materials. They form this parade: Ana Freiría (artistic goldsmithing), Charo López Atelier (fashion accessories), Estilo Aramar (fashion accessories), Janet Schulz (bridal headdresses), Arteviares (glass crafts), Mar Barral (ideas laboratory), Noelia Peña (designer jewelry with personalized designs), Pilar Rodríguez 'En Lá' (crafts in textile accessories), Suso Calo (silver crafts and carving), Xelis Luaces (experimental lace and application), Olería de Buño and ONG Egueire.

One of the novelties of the XXXI Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña will be the premiere of 'VodaEncaixe' space, an area that will be created inside the pavilion and where couples who wish to do so will be able to fully design their wedding without leaving the venue. In this corner, attendees will be able to find, from local companies and designer Jose Matteôs, everything they need to organize a wedding ceremony: dresses from Matteôs Novias, vehicles from Alebura, Floristería Alecrín that applies lace to the bouquets and wedding details, details from Agasalla Encaixe Agasalla Amor and photographic coverage by Diego Alonso Fotógrafo.
One of the most anticipated moments of the Festival are the fashion shows. 'Small box'. The 50 girls and boys from the Municipal Schools create their own lace throughout the school year to later design the dresses and parade in the Show. They become lace makers, designers and models.
The same thing happens in the parade of 'Senior Lacemakers of Camariñas' which will take place on Sunday the 17th at 7:30 p.m. during the closing ceremony of the event and in which residents of the municipality show the public the creations they have made throughout the year.
Charity music and other outstanding actions in the program
This year, attendees will be able to enjoy the music of Xabier Díaz and Adufeiras de Salitre (Saturday the 16th at 10pm in the Market Square, with a preview that same day at 5pm in one of the 'Great Designers' parades). In addition, there will also be charity music by Irma Macias (Wednesday 13th at 6pm after the parade) and Dominican Combo (Sunday 17th at 9:30 p.m.), who will donate the money paid by the City Council for their performance to the STOP FA association, an organization that brings together people affected by ataxia at a national level.
During the five days, the folklore of the villages will be heard in the pavilions of the Mostra, mixed with the sound of chopsticks. groups Abrindo Rejo, Con toda en banda and Vaiche BoaAlso V Coral Meeting in which the Airiños de Nós de Oleiros Association and the Brisas do Mar Choir will participate (Sunday 17th at 12:15 p.m.).
One of the most special moments will be the presentation of the book 'La Turballe and Camariñas share a table' (Saturday 16 at 11:30 a.m.), a project carried out between the City Council of Camariñas and the French of La Turballe, supported by the La Turballe – Cap Camariñas Association, where the most traditional and most modern recipes from each municipality are collected.
The event will be used for presentation of Paula Esteiro's kit (Thursday 14 at 12:30 p.m.), a Camargue champion of Spain in the obstacle course racing league (OCR), and the 'Juan Cabrejo Municipal Football School' (Sunday 17th at 12:15 p.m.).
In addition, they will organize sports activities with kayak routes and introduction to skateboarding, and the XXXI Mostra do Encaixe tournament that will be contested by Camariñas and Porteño at the Hermanas Patiño. Throughout the entire Mostra there will also be gastronomic stands and craft demonstrations and parents will be able to leave the little ones in the Children's Park with qualified monitors.
The closing of the XXIX Camariñas Lace Exhibition will take place on Sunday the 17th at 9:30 p.m.
