After two years of absence, the 9th Palilleira Festival of Camariñas returned in style, with more than 450 palilleiras arriving from different parts of Galicia and other parts of Spain (Soria, Asturias...) to enjoy an event in which the protagonists were the sound of the palillos, reunions and the desire to have a good time.
Many more people came to the pavilion throughout the day to see first-hand the art of the stick and the lace of camariñas and, in addition, to take a look at the Christmas Market with shops specializing in lace and also other local and surrounding stores, in addition to the stands of the Carmen, Xaviña and Ponte do Porto festival committees.

In addition, with the aim of involving all the residents of Camariñas in this party, inflatables were set up throughout the day and, in the afternoon, a raffle was held for ten lace shawls donated by the Rendas e Puntillas associations.
At the opening of the day, the mayor of Camariñas, Sandra Insua, welcomed all the participating associations and stressed that “we have finally recovered an event that for those of us who love the world of chopsticks is more of a party than anything else”. “I am sure that today, after so long, is a day of reunions for many of you. A day to catch up, to tell your experiences and, above all, to enjoy ourselves around chopsticks”, she stated.
In addition, the mayor recalled that "the Palilleira Festival is once again the prelude to the Mostra, the reference event for all of us. Today the chopsticks begin to rattle with that unmistakable sound that will remain in this pavilion until Easter."
