Today is the turn for the confirmations of the always surprising 'ArtEncaixe' parade, in this case with two artisans who will debut at the XXXIII Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña: Lola Logaro and Yelena Molina.
Lola Logaro, who defines herself as a "creative textile and craftsman" and works with "socks and crochet from a personal and creative vision", explains that "I had never considered integrating lace into knitted and crocheted garments, but the truth is that, when combined with the fine thread I'm working with, the result is very beautiful". "It has been a great discovery", he says.
"I have a small collection of 5 pieces, which I call 'Noiva': they are two shawls, a top, a short-sleeved sweater and a round yoke. They all make up a very heterogenous and elegant mix, but, at the same time, very versatile and wearable. I think the show will surprise and make you fall in love", she says.
Yelena Molina, who works with accessories to which she applies jewellery, explains that "each of my pieces describes a unique moment. As if you could materialize a piece of time, with its light and its shadow. My inner world expressing itself with a baroque language, and meeting yours. It has the air of Greece, Africa and Cuba". "The essence of each moment, translated into colorful shapes and recurring elements: Eyes, conch shells with brilliant zircons, my inseparable rock beads and Swarosky crystals, hearts and juicy lips, tigresses and golden spirals... Everything is sewn piece by piece in a meticulous artisanal process", he adds.
For her, "working with Camariñas lace is an honor and a delight, it excites me, it brings a very special light and a lot of visual lightness" and she says that "I will bring to the Mostra a necklace, two bracelets, a belt and a jewelry bag".
