The Andalusian designer José Perea, first confirmation of the Great Designers of the XXXV Lace Exhibition Provincial Council of A Coruña

The renowned Cordoban designer will be landing on the Galician catwalk this Easter just after presenting his collections in Malta and at the prestigious Milan Fashion Week. Perea will present a capsule collection of six spectacular designs that will fuse his unmistakable volumes with the meticulous work of the palilleiras.

The XXXV Camariñas Lace Fair of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which will be held from 1 to 5 April, is warming up by announcing the first of the brands that will make up its prestigious 'Great Designers' parade. Andalusian designer José Perea, one of the most media-friendly, bold and groundbreaking figures in the current Spanish fashion scene, will make his debut on the Galician catwalk for the first time during this Easter.

The creator will arrive on the Costa da Morte at an unbeatable professional moment, after being selected to present his creations on top-level international catwalks during the month of February, such as Malta and the prestigious Milan Fashion Week. An international leap that, he assures, he combines with the challenge of Camariñas with the same energy.

“"I find myself now packing my bags and preparing the parades. I love the challenge and, if I'm honest with you, I'm going to experience them all with the same enthusiasm. I'm passionate about showing my creations to the public," says Perea, who already has the first meters of Galician craftsmanship in his workshop: "I received the lace from Camariñas and I'm looking forward to getting to work with the 6 designs for the parade. I'm crazy happy and looking forward to that week.".

A creative challenge: volumes and 'Slow Fashion'‘

Known for his creative speed and his ability to design pieces of high visual impact in record time, Perea's participation in the Mostra represents a fascinating collision between his dizzying style and the purest 'slow fashion' represented by the ancient lace of chopsticks.

On how he will adapt this material to his universe, the Andalusian is clear: "I want to show my volumes, my way of creating and my style with this spectacular material. Honestly, it's one of the most complicated challenges, but one of the ones I'm most eager to face because of what it involves in the preparation that goes into the fit, the workmanship and its spectacularity. It's quite a challenge for me and I hope I'm up to it.".

As for what the public will be able to see on the catwalk from April 1 to 5, the designer says that it will be a proposal with "a lot of volume and elegant dresses that are transparent at the same time. I want to have a little bit of everything in this small capsule collection.".

A historic appointment: The 35th edition

José Perea's participation coincides with a very special edition, number 35, a milestone anniversary for the most important craft event in Galicia. The designer, who already knew about the existence of the Mostra after meeting the organizing team a few years ago at an awards ceremony in Madrid, was "super happy and grateful" upon receiving the official proposal: "I love the idea, the craftsmanship and the creativity that is developed in this event.".

Perea promises not to leave anyone indifferent in his debut in Camariñas and sends a message to all attendees who visit the fairgrounds this Easter: "I think I'm going to surprise. I'm going to create 6 spectacular designs to live up to the 35th anniversary of the Mostra do Encaixe.".
