The City Council of Camariñas has already begun distributing the 15,000 masks made by around 50 volunteers coordinated since last week by the Mostra do Encaixe department.
They are being distributed first to people in vulnerable situations and also in supermarkets, companies, factories, tobacconists, brotherhoods and kiosks. When finished, they will be distributed to the rest of the population, which will be done through Correos so that they reach all households.
The local government has made the telephone number of the councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, available to the public to handle any type of doubt or information about the distribution. The telephone number is 667 03 43 05 and can also be used to communicate any type of urgency in the delivery of the masks that the Council is not currently aware of.
The masks were all made with double fabric for greater protection. There were 14,000 with 'woven-in-fabric' (TNT) material that the City Council acquired and another 1,000 with 100% cotton donated by the company Yutes, from Barcelona.
The councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, wanted to convey “tranquility” to the residents of Camariñas and assured that “it will reach all homes but priority will be given to people in vulnerable situations and those who are working”. In addition, she reminded that these masks “are not approved and therefore cannot be used in the healthcare field”.
