The Great Designers' catwalk of the XXXV Camariñas Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coruña will host in this edition two proposals that, although born from very different life and professional trajectories, find a common link in the purity of the white color, in elegance and in absolute respect for the work of the lacemakers. They are the collections of the renowned designer Ana Cabranes and the emerging talent Xoaquín Ruiz.
For the Andalusian designer based in Culleredo, Xoaquín Ruiz, this thirty-fifth edition represents the culmination of a dream and the closing of a perfect cycle within the Mostra itself. After starting his journey in the Noveis Deseñadores competition and passing through the Emerging Designers catwalk, this year he makes his debut on the main bill. “For me it is an honour and a great responsibility. Starting in the Noveis competition was one of the first steps in a dream that little by little took shape. I saw the designers and said to myself 'I have to be there one day', and with perseverance and effort I am here‘, he confesses.
In this sense, Ruiz wanted to send a message to the young people who are participating in the Noveis contest this year: "May they really enjoy the process, the experience and the colleagues they meet at each fashion show. May they believe in their own personality when creating fashion, because dreams come true if you work hard for them.".
Regarding the proposal that will take to the catwalk, the designer says that the collection revolves around “the delicacy of the details and the strength of the craftsman”. True to his essence, his creation will stand out for its volumes and will have white as the main color. “It is a collection where Andalusia meets Galicia”, he emphasizes.

The reinvention and fidelity of Ana Cabranes
Sharing this aesthetic commitment to light and the color white will be Ana Cabranes, an institution at the Mostra do Encaixe, in which she has participated continuously for more than two decades. Despite her long and successful career at the event, the designer assures that she will face this edition “with the same enthusiasm”.
For Cabranes, the magic of Camariñas lies in seeing how, over time, "the lace continues to be revalued year after year, to continue achieving impossible shapes; it is an incredible satisfaction for me.".
Asked about the secret to always staying at the forefront without losing her essence edition after edition, the creator is clear: "Everyone has their own personal style and, if you want to be true to it, you always find a way to reinvent yourself and see each detail as something special that you never tire of seeing and appreciating.".
This year, Ana Cabranes will present a capsule collection that stands out for having “a lot of light and a feeling of fusion of the lace with the tone, being all one.” Like Xoaquín Ruiz, the designer will bet on that immaculate color, looking for “the point of elegance and simplicity that white has.”.
