The Camariñas Lace Show of the Provincial Council of A Coruña continues its commitment to promoting local and regional talent and, in this regard, has just awarded the organization of the catwalk of the thirty-first edition to the international model Damián Álvarez.
Damián, image of the thirtieth edition of the event, is one of the recognizable faces of modeling internationally and has now decided to create a company, 'Gubem Event', dedicated to the organization of events, audiovisual production and advertising, among other lines of work.
Thus, the model will be the main person responsible for the different fashion shows this year, both for the 'Grandes Deseñadores' and the 'ArtEncaixe' and those of the participants in the new designers' competition. "With my participation last year I saw that Camariñas lace has enormous potential at a Galician, national and even international level, and I would like to give that touch to bigger ones to bring it closer to the fashion that I am used to in Milan", he explains.
"It will be my debut as the person most responsible for a catwalk. It is true that I have already helped organize others but never in this way", confesses Damián, who announces that "I will bring models from Galicia and also friends who are dedicated to modeling internationally".
The international model says that “I already feel like an adopted son of Camariñas, because of how they treat me every time I go” and is “very happy that they trust me and give me this opportunity. It is a challenge on a personal level that I am delighted to do and I am super motivated to give my best, that everything goes well and to be able to help spread the word about this event”.
On whether this new project will mean a change in his career, Damián Álvarez clarifies that "I continue working as a model but I thought it was necessary to look for a 'B' plan. I'm not yet 30 but I'm going to turn 30 now and this is the right time, that's why I created the company."
"There will be some surprises for the parades. I have some ideas. I encourage people to come to the Mostra during Easter to check it out," he concludes.
