EASD Mestre Mateo repeats participation in the 'ArtEncaixe' parade of the Mostra

This will be their second appearance at the Show and they will do it again with the 1st year Jewelry students. “We will present colorful pieces focused on a fashion show such as tiaras, a necklace for the back or earrings,” explains teacher Ana Seara.

The 'ArtEncaixe' parade continues, year after year, gaining momentum, consolidating itself and attracting artisans from different parts of Galicia to demonstrate that lace is versatile and can be adapted to different materials. In this case, in the XXXIII Camariñas Lace Fair, the Provincial Council of A Coruña will once again participate in the Mestre Mateo School of Art and Design, from Santiago de Compostela.

They will do it with the participation of students from the first year of Jewelry. “For us, it has several objectives: to participate in the fashion show with jewelry, and to present their pieces in motion, and to do it with professional models and with an audience that recognizes the work of bringing together craftsmanship and innovation in Galicia,” explains the teacher at EASD Mestre Mateo, Ana Seara.

Ana adds that “this year we will wear showy pieces focused on a parade such as tiaras, a necklace designed for the back or earrings”. “They tend to be large, in which we work mainly with laser cutting on a wooden base, of course applying lace, and some are polychrome with gold leaf and oxidized gold leaf, taking advantage of the fact that we have the Gold and Polychrome modular at the School”, she adds.

For EASD Mestre Mateo, last year's experience "was very positive in every way. It allowed us to carry out a complete project with the 1st year students, from each one's personal idea, to make tests and models, experimenting with various materials that we generally don't usually see together or think about in jewelry."
