Camariñas recognizes the role of women in all areas of life through the Mostra do Encaixe. The organization of this unique event aims to emphasize the relevance of women as a fundamental element in Camariña society.
In addition, the commitment of the fifty seamstresses from Camariñas who produced protective material for the neighborhood in a totally altruistic way is highlighted; also that of the women who run a lace shop and initiatives such as that of Edith del Valle from Compostela, who has just launched a line of masks named after unique women from Camariñas, are applauded.
'From the Mostra, as women but also as maids that we are, it seems relevant to us to claim the figure of women through the Encaixe, for what it means for our municipality, but in different areas, such as in the commercial and business fabric or in sports', highlights Dolores Lema, the director of the Mostra.
On the other hand, the councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Liñeiro, wanted to thank 'what they all did and are doing for Camariñas, for Encaixe and, ultimately, for each and every one of us, for making the municipality that we are today: a world reference', declared the councilor.
From the organization of the Mostra do Encaixe, new initiatives are being prepared for the XXX Edition of the Mostra, to highlight the role of women from Camariña.
