Camariñas' Lopes heads the musical program of the XXXII Camariñas Lace Festival

The artist declares that “being able to play where I grew up, which is where I lived experiences from which I draw inspiration for the songs I make, is a source of pride”. The sports dance club 'Arte e Movemento' will put on a show that mixes Caribbean, Latin and standard dances. DJ SON1C will premiere the dance version of the song 'Camariñas', accompanied by Alicia Bautis, and the music of Danza de Arcos.

The artist from Camariñas Lopes heads the musical program of the XXXII Mostra do Encaixe de Camariñas Provincial Council of A Coruña, in which attendees will also be able to enjoy a dance exhibition, dance music and lots of folklore.

Rapper Lopes will be in charge of the closing concert (Sunday, April 9 at 9 p.m.) and, having arrived from a tour of Mexico, declares that "being able to play where I grew up, which is where I lived experiences that inspire the songs I make, is a source of pride."

"We bring a show full of energy and strength as always, but with a special desire to be in my homeland. We will perform songs like Pole, Penas, Bandolero 2... and we will try to make the audience connect with us as much as possible", he says.

For Lopes, this concert will be special since “another good thing about playing at the Mostra is that I can be in Camariñas that day, because in recent years we have always had some filming or concerts outside of Galicia” and he recalls that “the memories I have as a child are always seeing the town very full of people from outside, my mother and grandmother playing guitar, all the families getting ready to go to the Mostra together, the parades so varied… But the most beautiful thing about all this is the positive energy that is breathed in the town during that week”. “I invite everyone to come and enjoy it this 2023”, he says.

Art and Movement

Dance, dance music and folklore

On Saturday, April 8 at 11:30 a.m., the 'Arte e Movement' sports dance club will hold an exhibition that will mix Caribbean, Latin and standard dances (waltz, tango, etc.). "Mostly boys and girls of all ages will participate, but also some mothers," explains Lita, a student at the club, who points out that "in addition, I am making the lace so that each dancer wears a piece."

On the other hand, on the day of the inauguration, Wednesday, April 5, before the Great Designers' parade that will close that first day (starting at 6 p.m.), DJ SON1C will premiere the dance version of the song 'Camariñas', accompanied by singer Alicia Bautis, and the music of the Danza de Arcos.

As it could not be otherwise, during the five days, the folklore of the groups Abrindo Rejo, Con toda en banda, Vaiche Boa, Asociación Mar Devalado de Camelle and Asociación As Cansorriñas will be heard in the pavilions of the Mostra, mixed with the sound of chopsticks. There will also be the VI Encontro de Choirs in which the Coral Brisas do Mar de Corme, the Coral de Bergondo and the Coral Brisas do Mar de Camariñas will participate (Sunday 9 at 11:45 am).
