Today, Thursday, April 17, the 38 finalists participating in the XXXI New Designers Competition, a commitment by the organization to emerging talent, took to the catwalk for the first time at this XXXIV Camari\u00f1as Lace Exhibition, Provincial Council of A Coru\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 26 collections by the designers: Estefan\u00eda Organz Fern\u00e1ndez and Pedro Orgaz Fern\u00e1ndez (Culleredo); Johaness Eduardo Senior Paz (Vigo); Hugo Castro Oubi\u00f1a and Lucas P\u00e9rez Paz (Cambre and Betanzos); Paula Quinteiro Rodr\u00edguez (Vigo); Antonio Daniel Abad Ram\u00edrez (Ribeira); Adriana Lado Fern\u00e1ndez (CEE); Iria Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez (Lugo); Onitze Aramburu S\u00e1nchez and Sof\u00eda Puertas S\u00f6mme (Okondo, \u00c1lava, and Berango, Vizcaya); Niskar Mariela Romero Chamorro (A Coru\u00f1a); Elisabeth Mill\u00e1n S\u00e1nchez (Vigo); Alicia Santay V\u00e1zquez (Vedra); Laura Naroa Boroboio Allende, Giovanni Sestini and Mar\u00eda Jia Docampo Rimada (Santiago, A Coru\u00f1a and A Coru\u00f1a); Marina Lamela Vallejo (Santiago); Laura Villar Loureiro (Guitiriz); Noelia Picadizo Villar (Rois); Laura Fern\u00e1ndez de Bobadilla and Miguel San Sebasti\u00e1n (Santander and Torrelavega); Valeria Arg\u00fcelles Villadonga and Celia Aldama Gonz\u00e1lez (Carre\u00f1o and Avil\u00e9s); Luc\u00eda Merino Herrero and Clara Fern\u00e1ndez Souto (Valladolid and A Coru\u00f1a); Soraya Arce Cavada (Colindres, Cantabria); Yara Gonz\u00e1lez Barral (Melide); Clara Rey Iglesias, Luc\u00eda Janeiro Gonz\u00e1lez and Antonio Soto Lago (A Coru\u00f1a, Forcarei and Mar\u00edn); Nerea Torres Tob\u00edo (Sig\u00fceiro); Kharize Zanella Pol\u00f3n and Juli\u00e1n Barrosa Dom\u00ednguez (Santiago de Compostela and Ribeira); Mikel Basterretxea Tranche, Maialen Heredero Paraje and Nagore Alinso Torre (Vizcaya); Josu Santos Blanco (Chief of the Bishop); and Aroa Lemos Mota and Carlota Izquierdo Mar\u00eda (Barber\u00e1 del Vall\u00e9s and Barcelona). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the selected people belong to the following schools: Goymar, Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Vigo, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Paseo das Pontes, EASD Mestre Mateo, Susa Su\u00e1rez, CESINE and ESDI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 28 collections will be paraded on the catwalk of the XXXIV Mostra do Encaixe de Camari\u00f1as: Mitra, Santos do meu pobo, Threads of the sea, Ondas de Luz, LP2D, Mallo x Luna: surrealist conversations, Divine tragicomedy, Tales of my grandmother, APAR, Mar\u00eda Antoinette, Muerte a la moda, Marus\u00eda, Acqua Vitae, Flores nas pedras, Bella Epoqu\u00e9, Marea negra, Afertsun, Mulleres de semper, Mooring, Bicos da Terra, Silvara, Ritual of fire and shadow, Paint it colors, The foliage of the trees, Beat 2025, Sakura, Debora and Inheritance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of the competition is to encourage and promote the application of Camari\u00f1as lace in fashion. The main novelty of this edition is that prizes will be awarded, based on the assessment of the official jury, to the four best collections instead of three, as had been the case until now. The first prize will consist of 2,100 euros, the second of 1,200 euros, the third of 700 euros and the fourth of 500 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, April 20, the jury's verdict will be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First walk of the new 'Emerging Brand' fashion show<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This second day of the Mostra also served to debut the main novelty of this edition in terms of fashion shows: the 'Emerging Brand', a concept that aims to help emerging designers, who have participated in an edition of the New Designers competition and who continue to promote Camari\u00f1as lace through their work, to consolidate themselves as a brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition the 'Emerging Brand' is Xaqu\u00edn Ru\u00edz, who has participated in the competition on several occasions, and who throughout the year promotes Camari\u00f1as lace at fairs around Europe through his collections. He presented two collections: 'Flor de toxo' and 'Rebelde'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, groups 'A' and 'B' of the competition paraded down the catwalk of the XXXIV Lace Show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In total there are 26 finalist collections, with boys and girls belonging to schools from different parts of Galicia and Spain.<\/p>\n
