They are the designers Eli Conde, from Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Yolanda Román, from Vigo.

Eli Conde participated in the Young Designers Competition in the year 2021, in the XXVII edition of the competition, which will be remembered for being the only Lace Show held outside Easter, specifically in the month of October, because of the pandemic.

The designer from Vilagarcía will reinterpret her Victoria collection. “I use the base and then I'm making changes, I add a sleeve to some dresses and make a new headdress, I put a cape on others, a skirt…”, she explains. She also highlights the ease of reusing the lace since “after several years, it's still intact, in perfect condition, I dyed it on some pieces, I had to wash it, and it still holds up and remains impeccable” and adds that “my 19-year-old son is working with the lace pieces that I'm going to use in this collection, for me it's a source of pride”.

Yolanda Román participated in the Young Designers Competition in 2012 and 2019, in the 18th and 25th editions of the competition. This time she is reinterpreting the collection she presented in 2012, 'Encaixa o postapocalipse', taking the pieces apart to create new garments.

For Yolanda, it is a “bit stressful job, because when reinterpreting and reusing you have to adapt to the pieces in the collection, you can only work with what you already have, and they are the ones that set the limits.” Still, she admits that reused lace “is a material that works very well.”

'ReFit Me'

The purpose of the show is to encourage designers to reinterpret an outdated collection by reusing both Camariñas fabrics and lace.
