The closing day of the XXXI Camari\u00f1as Lace Fair served to announce the winners of the XXVIII New Designers competition. The first prize, awarded by the councilor of Camari\u00f1as, Encarna Li\u00f1eiro, went to \u00c1lvaro Castillo, who won over the professional jury with his Remind collection, for which he used fabrics and garments from his grandmother, who passed away and to whom he wanted to dedicate the prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the Vil\u00e1n plant of Stolt Sea Farm, Jos\u00e9 Figueroa, presented the award to M\u00ebu Kiez, by Pablo Gonz\u00e1lez Moreno, who came in second place; while the El Taller collection by Vanessa Parente and Beatriz Chan, who received the award from the founder of Frigor\u00edficos de Camari\u00f1as, Luis Canosa; came in third place. The \u201cSpecial Audience Award\u201d, presented by the director of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Tourism Promotion of Camari\u00f1as, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ameal, also went to Pablo Gonz\u00e1lez Moreno, with M\u00ebu Kiez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition, a total of 4,500 euros were awarded in prizes divided as follows: a first prize of 2,100 euros, a second of 1,200 euros, a third of 600 euros, and the \u201cSpecial Audience Prize\u201d, also of 600 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 25 young people who are taking their first steps in the world of fashion have applied for these awards. The origins of the new designers were very diverse, as they will come from Asturias, Alicante, Guip\u00fazcoa, Pontevedra, Zaragoza, A Coru\u00f1a, Cantabria, Zaragoza, Murcia or Madrid. They have trained in the best schools at a national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The The jury was composed of the following designers:<\/a>: Amaya Fern\u00e1ndez, Edith del Valle, Modesto Lomba (president), In\u00e9s Fern\u00e1ndez, Charo Carrillo, Felipe Santamar\u00eda, Franco Quint\u00e1ns, Jorge de \u00c1lvarez and Esteban Freir\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the closing ceremony, the councilor of Encaixe, Encarna Li\u00f1eiro, stated that "at this moment we can proudly say that many people fit into paradise, so many that the slogan could be 'Camari\u00f1as is in fashion'."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech he made reference to the return of the International Delegations since "sharing our art with other countries is proof that our way of understanding life has no borders. We are one big family, whether we are in Peniche, Novedrate or Sofia."<\/p>\n\n\n\n
