{"id":3739,"date":"2022-04-13T20:45:57","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T20:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mostra.es\/?p=3739"},"modified":"2022-04-14T09:16:11","modified_gmt":"2022-04-14T09:16:11","slug":"identity-paraiso-xxxi-shows-lace-dressing-rooms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostra.es\/en\/actualidade\/prensa\/identidad-paraiso-xxxi-mostra-encaixe-camarinas\/","title":{"rendered":"Recovering identity in the paradise of the XXXI Camari\u00f1as Lace Exhibition Provincial Council of A Coru\u00f1a"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The XXXI Camari\u00f1as Lace Exhibition of the Provincial Council of A Coru\u00f1a begins, the edition that signifies the return to normality and the recovery of the identity lost by the pandemic, being held again this year on its traditional date and with the usual format, without restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mayor of Camari\u00f1as, Sandra Insua, the president of the A Coru\u00f1a Provincial Council, Valent\u00edn Gonz\u00e1lez Formoso, the deputy delegate of the Government, Mar\u00eda Rivas, and the delegate of the Xunta in A Coru\u00f1a, Gonzalo Trenor, were in charge of cutting the lace ribbon that symbolically marks the start of the Mostra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sandra Insua referred to this recovery of identity and stressed that \u201cCamari\u00f1as is once again the fashion capital during Easter, as it should be\u201d since \u201cfor any Camari\u00f1an or Camari\u00f1an, normality does not exist if there is no Mostra during Easter\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Beginnings of the XXXI Camari\u00f1as Lace Exhibition\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y4XQmVmjw0g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In her speech, the mayor also wanted to highlight the return of the international delegations because \u201ca Mostra without you is less of a Mostra\u201d and took the opportunity to \u201csend from Camari\u00f1as a message of unity between peoples, a message of diplomacy, that we are all equal and that borders cannot separate us but must serve to unite us, to collaborate and to exchange knowledge and culture\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In that sense, he expressed \u201cmy solidarity with the Ukrainian people and my strong condemnation of the war\u201d and recalled that \u201cthe first Ukrainian families arrived in our municipality. People who leave their entire lives behind from one day to the next for the whims of a few\u201d. \u201cIt is unacceptable. I hope that some of these families who are settling in Camari\u00f1as will come to the Mostra these days and, for a moment, can forget all the bad things they are doing to their country. You are more than welcome. Surely you will fit into paradise\u201d, he stated, referring to the motto of this thirty-first edition of the Mostra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For his part, Valent\u00edn Gonz\u00e1lez Formoso, highlighted that &quot;at the Provincial Council we have been collaborating for three decades to make this Lace Exhibition a point of reference at a national and international level during Easter&quot; and explained that &quot;we do it because we believe that supporting our crafts and our material and intangible heritage is essential to maintaining our identity.&quot;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Inauguration of the XXXI Camari\u00f1as Lace Exhibition\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IYlEHZCdh2s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecause outside and within our borders, saying lace means saying Camari\u00f1as. And this is the result of the work of generations of lace makers who have known how to keep the fire of tradition alive in your families\u201d, he stated, adding that \u201cthe Lace Exhibition is also tourism and in Camari\u00f1as you have many beautiful things to show the thousands of visitors who will pass through here for five days\u201d. \u201cI can tell you that, if it is not paradise, it is very similar to it\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mar\u00eda Rivas described the Mostra as \u201cthe most important lace event in the world\u201d and highlighted the \u201cwomen of Camari\u00f1as, you are an example of dedication and you all deserve our recognition\u201d. \u201cI know that you have been working for many years on this Mostra to turn the tradition of this town into art\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, Gonzalo Trenor highlighted that \u201cthree out of five Galician lacemakers reside in Camari\u00f1as\u201d and referred to the internationality of lace since \u201cyou can find Camari\u00f1as lace anywhere in the world\u201d. \u201cLace is the excuse that attracts visitors to discover that Camari\u00f1as is much more than lace but without lace it would not be Camari\u00f1as\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the relevant visit to the different stalls and stands located in the two municipal pavilions prepared for the occasion, the authorities present will witness the &#039;Pequencaixe&#039; parade and, finally, will attend the inaugural catwalk of the Mostra, in which the participating firms will show for the first time the collections they have
