The City Council of Camariñas announces that the XXX Anniversary of the Mostra do Encaixe Diputación de A Coruña will be held in the month of October, specifically between the 8th and the 12th, Tuesday and Pilar Day.
After extensive deliberation and multiple conversations with the sectors that underpin the municipality's economy, "it would be terrible to suspend the Mostra do Encaixe for the second consecutive year," emphasizes the mayor, Sandra Insua.
“It will be an event that will be marked by the pandemic, although we hope that the situation in the last months of 2021 will be much better than what we have now,” he emphasizes. Encarna Lineiro, the councilor of Encaixe. “We are considering strict safety and hygiene measures and we will control the capacity of all the rooms,” says the councilor.
For her part, the director of the Mostra, Dolores Lema, announces that “however, we will organize during Easter, outdoor activities adapted to the current health context, which will have the Encaixe as the leading element”.
And that the idea is none other than to combine both celebrations. On the one hand, the virtual one, which had been so successful as an alternative in the past 2020 and with “the occasional surprise”; and on the other hand, the in-person one, always paying attention “to the evolution of the situation and with great caution”, insists the City Council.
